There was speculation earlier this year as to who was going to be the supporting act for the One Direction lads on their 2014 ‘Where We Are’ stadium tour.

Yesterday the lads of 5 Seconds of Summer took to their facebook page to taunt and tease North American fans three hours before they came out with the big news.

Their official Facebook comment was, “We are soooo excited to announce we will be supporting the 1D lads on their “Where We Are Tour” in the USA & Canada this year The tour last year was a wicked experience and helped us take our band to places we never dreamed possible.

Cannot wait to play our new music and rock out in stadiums across North America! It’s going to be EPIC.”

It will be epic indeed!

Members of both boy bands took to twitter yesterday to express just how excited they are to be touring with each other again – and we’re sure there’s going to be even more tweets from the rest of the band as the weekend progresses!

Can’t wait to have the @5SOS boys with us again on tour !!

But with that leg of the tour figured out, that only leaves one question: who’s going to support the boys when they’re not in North America?

Unfortunately, we don’t have a definite answer yet. Rest assured though, the moment we figure out we’ll let the rest of you know! We’re just as excited about the supporting acts as you guys are!

Truth be told, we’re massively excited to know that 5 Seconds of Summer will be playing with the lads in the US and Canada. They seemed to have a blast playing together on their last show together during the ‘Take Me Home’ tour – we’re hoping for something to kick the entire tour off with a bang in Toronto.

Maybe all nine of the lads will take the stage and perform together like they did for ‘Teenage Dirtbag’…

What do you guys think about 5SOS joining 1D again? Do you guys have any favourite memories of the two bands together from last years tour?
