The suspense is absolutely killing us!

With the release of their new single on November 2, fans have been fervently hitting VEVO’s refresh button to try and rack up the number of views so that ‘Story of My Life’ could beat Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ video.

The emotional video that shows the boys recreating pictures from their past (We absolutely lost it when Louis recreated the picture with his grandparents!) needed over 19 million views in the first 24 hours of it being on VEVO in order to break the record.

And the question on everyone’s mind is, well, did we do it?

The truthful answer is: we have no idea.

The counter below the video on VEVO keeps jumping from number to number. We’ve seen it start at well over 13 million views only to sink to 12,171,107 by a simple refresh of the page. And then bounce back up to 13,202,005 when we refreshed it again.

Um, what?

One of the comments circulating about the number of views that the video has, on both VEVO and Youtube combined, was calculated by a fan of the boys and was set to be a potential title winning 21,420,525.

And what does VEVO have to say about this? Someone at VEVO took to their official twitter page and tweeted: “As soon as we get the correct views frm YouTube & all our partners, we’ll update w/ the final count! Stick w/ us! #SOMLonVEVO @onedirection”

All we want to know is if our boys smashed Miley’s record, is that too much to ask?
