Some more details have been confirmed about One Direction’s charity football match.

It was revealed earlier this month that Niall would manage a football team featuring bandmates Liam and Louis, as well as several friends of the band.

The match, which takes place on May 26th at Leicester’s King Power Stadium, is being held for the Irish Autism charity.

So, Niall’s in charge of one team, but who will he be squaring up against?

Well, it was revealed yesterday that One Direction’s oppostition team will be managed by journalist, talent show judge and chat show host Piers Morgan!

Piers wrote on Twitter: “CONFIRMED: I am now player-manager vs @NiallOfficial ‘s XI.”

He added that his team captain would be former footballer Robbie Savage.

Piers then went on to tweet several other people, in an attempt to get some players on his team. His attempted recruitments included former professional players Ian Wright and Michael Owen, as well as boxer Lennox Lewis.

Piers also jokingly tweeted Simon Cowell, saying: “Just checking you’ve got good insurance for @NiallOfficial ? His other leg’s going in a month”

However, the fighting talk didn’t stop, with Niall telling Piers: “your not playing on my team! All you know is mediocrity”

He also tweeted Morgan: “I had an operation on my knee in January! I can’t play! but I’m thinking about playing 10 minutes and having your ankle”

We can’t wait for this match! There’s still loads of names set to be announced, but so far we know Niall’s team will include singer Olly Murs and comedian John Bishop!
