Another big charity achievement from One Direction has been revealed!

Last year, the boys covered Blondie hit “One Way Or Another” as the official Comic Relief single, and yesterday they were shown to have taken part in a recording of “God Only Knows” for Children In Need.

Anyway, earlier this year, the boys launched a competition in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, Channel 4’s campaign to raise money for fighting cancer.

The competition saw fans donate money to the charity to enter, to win the amazing prize of getting to meet the boys backstage at the final date of their ‘Where We Are’ tour in Miami.

The band themselves also put money from their ticket sales for the UK and Ireland dates of the ‘Where We Are’ tour towards the charity.

So how much did One Direction raise for the charity in total? £501,300!!!

Wow!

Claire Rowney, the director of the charity, said: “You can imagine how thrilled we were when One Direction chose to support Stand Up To Cancer.

“They come with an army of dedicated supporters, which is exactly what we need for this campaign.

“We want people to join us on the frontline and help beat cancer sooner. The money raised by One Direction and their fans will help bring new treatments to patients sooner and will ultimately save lives.”

Good job guys!
