Simon Cowell, the musical mastermind behind the lads in One Direction, is sick with worry these days.
It’s not about the boys performing on “X Factor UK” this weekend.
Instead, Simon’s worried about the long-term effects of fame on Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall and Zayn.
The “X Factor” judge spoke out about his concerns to The Sun’s TV Magazine this week, saying:
“[One Direction] can’t carry on doing the amount of stuff they’ve been doing for long, because they’ll burn out…
“It’s a high-class problem,” admitted Simon. But then he added: “But they don’t complain about working hard.”
Simon then added this to his positive statement about the state of the band:
“They’re going to be around as long as they want to be, because they’re talented and good writers — and they understand their fans,” he said.
On Sunday night, the guys will be performing “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” on the finalé of “X Factor,” where Simon has two contestants up for taking this year’s title.
“[One Direction] still come down to ‘The X Factor,’” Simon said, “[and] into song meetings. And they will text me with ideas for the contestants. They’re generous to other artists. You don’t see that very often. Most artists couldn’t give a damn about anyone but themselves!”
Meanwhile it was revealed that Louis Tomlinson missed out on attending France’s NRJ Awards on Saturday night, as he was pronounced “too ill to attend.”
“Been sick all night,” LT tweeted. “Still really unwell. Absolutely gutted!!. So sorry to let our fans down at NRJ. 😦 sorry 😦 hope the lads smash it”.
